We've made first steps into making TeamCity more scalable (separate note to process running builds load and cross-server projects popup), added DSL to configure TeamCity projects from Kotlin code stored in the repository, added more integrations including dedicated GitHub integration and many more.

If you license maintenance time covers today or you use professional edition - upgrade today! Don't forget to take backup before upgrading as there is no downgrade path.

It seems about time to retire this announcements-only stream - follow the news and release announcements in TeamCity official blog.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-59592258979659293792016-05-06T12:58:00.001+03:002016-05-06T12:58:55.451+03:00TeamCity 9.1.7: Bugfix UpdateWe have recently published a new bugfix update: 9.1.7 build.
As usual, it contains most important bugfixes as well as performance improvements and some security-related fixes.Check the full list.

The update uses the same data structure as other 9.1.x releases, so you can upgrade/downgrade within 9.1.x freely.

Upgrade is recommended for all users, so grab it now.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-41646115432516180802016-03-07T17:38:00.001+03:002016-03-07T17:38:16.464+03:00TeamCity 10 EAP is OpenOur current plan is to release TeamCity 10 in the summer and we are working on the new features for several months already. Today is the time to share our current progress.

As we follow our tradition to code-name major releases after Indian cities in alphabetical order, we have chosen "Indore" as the next codename, so Indore means TeamCity 10.

Here is the first preview of the upcoming TeamCity 10 / Indore, build 40941.
Check the release notes and give it a try on test server.
We run the build on the internal JetBrains production TeamCity instance, but since this is not a released version, it can only be used for test servers, not production ones.

We are open for any feedback on the features announced in the release notes, let us know if you have anything to say about it.

Since this blog has turned into TeamCity announcements-only long ago, I am thinking on dumping it in favor of the official blog at http://blog.jetbrains.com/teamcity/
If you do not like the move, make sure to describe why in the comments here.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-15005370027014939102016-01-29T18:25:00.001+03:002016-01-29T18:25:13.300+03:00TeamCity 9.1.6: Bugfix UpdateHere is a new bugfix update: 9.1.6 build 37459.

Apart from many fixes it also features updated icons for TeamCity and other JetBrains products per our recent rebranding.

As usual, the data structure is the same as in other 9.1.x versions,
so in case of any issues with the new version you will be able to
downgrade to other 9.1.x version.

Check the upgrade instructions and roll it out!

We are gradually switching to the next major version development and only do important updates to 9.1.x: fix issues from the major reported ones and update tools support for the latest versions.
For the past two months since the previous update we have addressed over 100 issues. These include a range of .NET development fixes and general improvements.

As usual, the data structure is the same as in other 9.1.x versions, so in case of any issues with the new version you will be able to downgrade to other 9.1.x version.

Just download and follow the upgrade instructions.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-56357231826221381202015-09-18T22:28:00.001+03:002015-09-18T22:28:14.476+03:00TeamCity 9.1.3: Quick UpdateThings happen and 9.1.2 release featured a bug which might have turned critical in some setups.
So here we are with 9.1.3: a fresh update with several fixes.
As usual: grab it and use it.
Sorry for the trouble with 9.1.2.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-68644369265365184832015-09-16T21:22:00.002+03:002015-09-18T18:42:04.315+03:00TeamCity 9.1.2: Bugfix UpdateUpdate: Due to a critical bug in 9.1.2 related to command line scripts under Linux, we've just released 9.1.3 with the fix. Please upgrade to 9.1.3 instead of 9.1.2.

Please welcome 9.1.2, a fresh bugfix update to the stable TeamCity version.

Included are more than 100 improvements and fixes, including performance and security ones.

As usual, this is an easy upgrade from 9.1.x versions as no data structures are changed.

With
the vacation season over we are getting up to speed for the next major
TeamCity version development. In the nearest plans is the TeamCity team
gathering to discuss the upcoming features and things to do for the next year. Do you have thoughts on what those should be?
It includes lots of new features and bug fixes. There are some security-related fixes, so prompt upgrade for your servers is recommended.
Security-related issues are not yet public, we will make them publicly visible in several weeks.

If you are using professional version or your enterprise license maintenance period has not yet elapsed: upgrade. Otherwise consider using evaluation license key available from the download page to probe the version.

Let us know what you think about the release!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-44238981412237483302015-07-10T18:07:00.002+03:002015-07-10T18:07:33.724+03:00TeamCity 9.1 EAP4: Countdown for ReleaseThis is probably the last EAP build before the 9.1 release planned for the next week.

Comparing to the previous one, it has SBT runner plugin bundled and it defaults to not using server-to-agent HTTP connection anymore (details). The build has an RC quality and is recommended for the test servers.

It's your last chance to try pre-release TeamCity 9.1 and notify us if anything goes wrong with it!

The build already have no EAP license key bundled, so let us know if the server switches to professional mode on upgrade.

Stay tuned for the release!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-73003284718376785052015-07-03T18:07:00.002+03:002015-07-03T18:07:12.362+03:00TeamCity 9.1 EAP3: Approaching ReleaseWe plan TeamCity 9.1 release for July, so this is one of the last EAP builds which is approaching release quality. We run nightlies on our internal TeamCity instance for a long time already and have just upgraded public test instance https://teamcity.jetbrains.com/ with the build.

The build introduces experimental ability for one way agent-to-server communication and bundles VSTest support which was previously available as a separate plugin. For details check the release notes or full list of fixed issues.
Apart from that we are mostly focused on polishing of the earlier introduced functionality and fixing bugs.

It's high time to try the build on your test servers and drop us a line if you find any issues with it.

Check the release notes or full list of the fixed issues.

Get the build from the EAP page.
While the build is stable enough to build all the JetBrains products, it is not recommended to upgrade your productions servers. Trying the build on a test server is the way to go. Please note that the build updates the Data Directory structures so downgrade of the data is not possible.

We target 9.1 release for July, so the started features are stabilizing and get polished. Don't miss your chance to let us know your experience with this EAP build. Report issues into the tracker and leave feedback in the forum.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323377568251044417.post-67002251850926576942015-04-30T19:46:00.002+03:002015-04-30T19:46:20.939+03:00TeamCity 9.1 EAP Opening: Custom Sorting for Projects and MoreHere is the first preview of the upcoming features in TeamCity 9.1.

The major visible addition is ability to set custom display order for the Build Configurations and Projects lists. The world is no more alphabetically sorted!

If you use Perforce or Subversion you can now store Project and Build Configuration settings in the version control, just like you could in Git and Mercurial since TeamCity 9.0.

And there are more. Check the full release notes. Or full list of fixed issues.

The build has all the fixes included into 9.0.4 release and is stable enough for our production use within JetBrains.

There is an EAP license key bundled which is valid for 60 days. This way you can install it on a test server and try it for the time. We will release the next EAP build within the license time.

TeamCity 9.1 is currently planned for the mid-summer, we still have time to add some interesting features.
And while we are adding new features for the upcoming TeamCity 9.1 and wrapping some of them for the 9.1 EAP you have a wonderful reason to create own TeamCity plugin: you get a JetBrains IDE license and can get one of the grand prizes for your contribution to the TeamCity plugin contest.
A new EAP build for the 9.0 code line was published last week.

Check the changes and give it a try on your test servers. We appreciate any feedback on the new features and how their current state applies to your scenarios. Your comments here, posts in the forum or email messages are welcome! Especially taking into account that we target 9.0 release for the end of November your feedback would be very useful at this time.

Looking through the summary of the last week's customer visits, the general product feedback is very positive. There is always room for improvement which we like to fill making TeamCity experience even more smooth and pleasant.
If you do not happen to be in direct contact with us - we are always open for your suggestions and ideas, so if you have thoughts to contribute - make sure to share and discuss those with us.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613765036481074065noreply@blogger.com0
